[Uploading your artwork to Cohart ](https://support.cohart.com/uploading-guidelines)is the first important step to creating your presence in the Cohart community.  It’s how collectors and the community will discover what you’re doing, and it’s one of the easiest ways to get your work in motion without needing a whole website or team behind you.  Compared to adding works to a commercial site with e-commerce, Cohart’s upload flow is refreshingly straightforward, no code, no plugins, no separate tools to manage. Everything you need to showcase, price, and share your work is already built in.

This guide is for both artists and gallerists/advisors. Whether you’re managing your practice or representing multiple creators, Cohart gives you the flexibility and tools to show up in a way that’s clean, easy, and connected.

### How to Upload Artwork

 #### 1. Start the Upload
Begin by logging into your Cohart account. If you’re using the app, tap the **`Upload`** button at the bottom of the screen. On desktop, click the **`+`** in the top header and select **`Upload inventory`**

If you're an artist uploading your own work, your name will automatically populate. If you're a gallery or advisor, you’ll be prompted to select the artist’s name from a list. If the artist doesn’t have a Cohart profile yet, just type in their name to associate the work. You’ll have the option to invite or tag them later. You can also select **`add later`** and return to that step when you're ready.

We recommend uploading **3-10 available works to start**. This gives collectors a fuller picture of your practice and keeps your portfolio feeling fresh.

#### 2. Upload Images
Upload clear, high-res images of your artwork, 72 to 144 dpi, up to 20MB each. Multiple images are encouraged so you can show scale, texture, and framing. You’ll also be able to rearrange them after upload.

#### 3. Enter the Details
This is where your listing starts to come to life.  Add a title, description, and the year the piece was created. Use the description to tell the story. 
Include the dimensions and materials (separated by commas), and enter your price. Then choose how you want the piece listed: for sale, inquire to purchase, or sold. If you select **`sold`** you can also add the buyer and add it to your sales history.

If you want to accept offers, toggle on the **`Make an Offer`** option. And don’t forget to add accurate shipping details. 

#### 4. Add Tags and Boost Discoverability

Tag your piece with relevant Vibes, Values, and Mediums. These help collectors and community members find your work through search and filters. It’s a small step that helps your work get discovered in big ways.

#### 5. Add a Moment
**This step is optional - but powerful.**
Moments are short videos that let you add personality and context to your listing. Think: a time-lapse of your painting, a studio snippet, a curatorial preview, or a collector unboxing.
You can select a Moment from your existing uploads or add a new one directly during the upload flow. There’s also an option to drop in a quick fact about the work to make it more personal and memorable.

#### 6. Publish and Share
Double-check your details, then hit **`Publish`**, our artwork will go live in your Cohart portfolio. If you’ve included a Moment, it will display alongside your listing for a more immersive experience.
Now you’re ready to share it with the world.

Done right, your uploads don’t just reflect your work, they elevate it.

If you're managing a roster of artists, Cohart gives you flexibility. Upload work on behalf of your artists, tag them if they have profiles, or enter their name to get started.   You can also use Moments to show exhibition installs, collector walkthroughs, or exclusive previews,  giving your listings more storytelling power and more visual depth.
