##### Can you describe your artistic process? What materials and techniques do you typically use?

My artistic process is as fluid as my inspiration. Sometimes, I dive into a canvas without a plan, allowing my emotions to dictate the brushstrokes. It's a raw and therapeutic experience that often leads to unexpected discoveries. Other times, I take a more structured approach, starting with a digital sketch on my iPad, refining the concept until it’s ready to come to life on the canvas.

##### What themes or concepts are you most passionate about exploring in your work?

I'm passionate about blending abstract forms with focal points inspired by a vibrant, expressive style. I love juxtaposing elements that don't traditionally fit together, like a punk rock cat screaming into a microphone. This allows viewers to create their own narratives and interpretations, making each piece a unique storytelling experience.

##### How do your personal experiences influence your art?

Honestly, for me, I think it’s the other way around. My art serves as a catalyst for personal growth and reflection. The process of creating often brings thoughts and emotions to the surface. I believe this to influence my outlook and experiences.

##### Who are some of your biggest artistic influences, and how have they shaped your practice?

I draw inspiration from several incredible artists. [Patrick Nagel](https://www.instagram.com/patricknagelart/)'s work captures expression and beauty with minimal lines, a technique I admire for its simplicity and elegance. [Roy Lichtenstein](https://www.roylichtenstein.com/)'s paintings, which feel like snapshots from a movie scene, inspire me to create narratives that allow the viewer to decide what is happening. [Joan Miró](https://www.joan-miro.net/)'s use of vibrant colors taught me the emotional impact of color and how it can bring energy and life to a canvas.

##### What role does collaboration play in your work? Have you collaborated with other artists or disciplines?

One of my most meaningful collaborations was with my son, Luke, when he was around 7-9 years old. We had a ritual of drawing together before bedtime. I’d start with something simple on my iPad, and he’d add to it, passing it back and forth. I noticed that while I hesitated and overthought, Luke would dive in with boundless creativity. This experience taught me to embrace spontaneity and let go of the fear of making mistakes. Now, when faced with a creative block, I channel that childlike fearlessness and just start painting. It’s a powerful reminder that creativity flows best when we get out of our own way.

##### How do you define success as an artist? What does it look like for you? 

For me, success is measured by the satisfaction and fulfillment I find in my art. It's never been solely about launching a career or gaining recognition. Art has always been a necessary outlet, to express myself and find peace. While financial stability and recognition are important goals, true success to me is the process of creating something that resonates with me and makes me proud.

##### Can you share a specific project or piece that holds special significance for you? Why is it important?

“Star Attraction” will always be close to my heart because it was my first sale and part of my first exhibition. That experience was incredibly validating and exciting. It represents a milestone where my passion for art started to connect with others.

##### How do you engage with your audience, and what do you hope they take away from your work?

Right now, my main contact with my audience is through my Instagram account. The feedback and interactions on social media are incredibly valuable. In addition to Instagram, I'm exploring other platforms like TikTok to create short videos that showcase my process. I want my art to resonate on a personal level, encouraging viewers to connect with their own thoughts and feelings and decide their own narrative.

##### What challenges have you faced in your artistic career, and how have you overcome them?

One significant challenge I've faced in my artistic career is dealing with imposter syndrome. There were times when I felt my work wasn’t good enough to show or sell. To overcome this, I began to view the butterflies in my stomach—those feelings of nervousness and anxiety—as a positive sign. It meant I was stepping out of my comfort zone and about to experience personal growth.

##### In what ways do you think art can contribute to social change or address current issues in society?

Art has the potential to contribute to social change, depending on the artist’s intent. While I believe in the power of art to inspire thought and reflection, I also feel that social media has numbed the valuable experiences that helped shape previous generations. Today, it seems people are less interested in engaging in healthy debate or making sacrifices for the greater good. My aim is to create pieces that allow viewers to connect with their own thoughts and emotions, letting them decide what the art means to them personally.
