Heather Kirtland's work explores human existence and the need to be seen, using abstract compositions to express universal emotions. Through layers of encaustic, oil, and acrylic paints, combined with marks from oil pastels, charcoal, and spray paint, they convey complex feelings and inner struggles. The paintings offer a space for expression, allowing viewers to communicate what words cannot, and connect to a shared, collective human experience.

_State of Being_ features a selection of three distinct painting series displayed together for the first time, as well as never-before-seen work.
