##### Can you describe your artistic process? What materials and techniques do you typically use?

I am best known for my colorful and emotional large-scale paintings, although I also explore new media, sculpture, photography, and other forms of art. My artistic process is completely intuitive and spontaneous, characterized by a vibrant color scheme, vigorous brushstrokes, and lots of dripping. I love to create huge paintings because they make me feel immersed in the work, almost as if I am inside the painting itself. I paint barefoot, in silence, just listening to my inner voice. It’s just me, the empty canvas, and the colorful paints surrounding me.

My studio is bathed in natural light from morning until sunset, thanks to a 7-meter (approx. 23 feet) wide by 4-meter (approx. 13 feet) high sliding glass door that faces west. This allows me to open it up and feel like I'm painting ‘en plein air,’ with a view of the sea. The sun has a significant influence on my art; I can't create without its presence, and I never paint on cloudy days. The sunlight infuses my work with a unique energy that I find essential to my creative process.

##### What message or emotion do you hope to convey through your art?

I hope to convey happiness and positivity through my art. In these troubled and challenging times, my goal is to be a source of uplifting energy, bringing a ray of sunshine into someone's life. My work is genuine and unpretentious, reflecting pure emotion—it’s a true representation of who I am. I am passionate about my art and believe that this passion translates into a heartfelt connection with those who view my pieces.

##### What role does spontaneity versus planning play in your creative process?

Spontaneity is at the heart of my creative process. Every painting I create is an act of pure intuition, unplanned and unscripted. I don't rely on meticulous planning or detailed sketches. Instead, I embrace the unpredictability of the moment, allowing my instincts and emotions to guide my hand. This spontaneous approach lets the true essence of my feelings and thoughts flow onto the canvas, resulting in art that is raw, genuine, and deeply personal.

##### Can you share a specific project or piece that holds special significance for you? Why is it important?

Every piece I create holds special significance for me, as each one is an extension of who I am. I don't like to single out a particular project because they all represent different facets of my journey and personal growth. I believe that my art should speak for itself. Each piece presents its own set of challenges, both technically and conceptually, but I want the audience to experience and interpret these aspects on their own. My goal is for viewers to experience the raw emotions and personal connections within the art, rather than trying to rationalize or intellectualize it. I want my work to touch people on a deeper, more instinctive level.

##### How important is the exhibition space to the presentation of your work? Do you adapt your pieces for different venues or spaces?

The exhibition space isn't a significant concern for me. I've never adapted a single piece of my work for a specific venue, and I don't intend to start. The space should adapt itself to the artist, not the other way around. That said, I am open to creating commissioned pieces for particular spaces, which is a different scenario altogether. But when it comes to my existing work, its integrity and essence remain intact, regardless of where it's displayed.

##### What impact do you hope your art has on the community or society at large?

I don't create my art with the intention of impacting the community or society at large. The primary goal of my work is not to make a societal statement. Instead, my hope is for individuals to have a personal and emotional experience when they view my paintings. If someone feels something, anything, when they look at my work, I am fulfilled and happy. It's about making a connection on a more intimate, human level.

##### Do you incorporate any cultural or historical references into your work?

Not usually. My art emerges from a more instinctive and spontaneous place. It’s about channeling my emotions, thoughts, and personal experiences onto the canvas. My focus is on creating something authentic that resonates with my inner world.

##### How do you handle criticism or feedback on your work?

When it comes to handling criticism or feedback on my work, I take a somewhat detached approach. I don't let it affect me deeply. Positive feedback, naturally, brings a sense of happiness and fulfillment. However, I believe in the integrity of my artistic vision and trust my instincts above all. I remain open to constructive criticism that helps me grow, but ultimately, I create art for myself. The joy of creation is my primary reward.

##### If you could collaborate with any artist, living or deceased, who would it be and why?

If I could collaborate with any artist, living or deceased, I would choose... no one. Painting for me is a profoundly intimate experience. My art is a deeply personal journey, and collaborating could risk diluting the raw emotions and unique vision that I pour into each piece. The essence of my work lies in the solitude and introspection that fuels my creativity. Painting is my personal sanctuary where I can explore the depths of my soul without external influence.

That said, I have immense respect for many artists who have inspired me. Their work challenges me, moves me, and helps shape my artistic voice. However, I remain dedicated to maintaining the purity of my artistic expression, which thrives in the solitude of my creative process.
