Bunce's path to art is unique. He grew up in the mountains of Idaho and was a competitive snowboarder before becoming an artist. That background in movement and physical space shows up in how his painted figures move and interact. He also studied Literature at Stanford, which explains why his paintings feel so much like visual stories. His influences range from Monty Python to Charlie Chaplin to Sacha Baron Cohen, and he integrates comedic sparks throughout his work.
