This weekend, Cohart lit up Dallas’ Arts District with the highly anticipated **Art Star Weekend**, a high-energy celebration of the city’s finest local talent. Hosted at the newly redone Heights District space, the event showcased standout works by Dallas artists Hokett, Abi Salami, and Marian Mekhail, drawing in the city’s art lovers and tastemakers.

Alongside her works, Abi Salami brought a new masterpiece to life with a live painting session. As always, Hokett made a bold statement with a full installation of his exquisite leather works—each piece a testament to his craftsmanship and creative vision. Marian Mekhail showcased three distinct series, each offering a glimpse into her evocative world, complemented by a selection of her exclusive merch.

DJ Prodacia’s beats set the mood, and live jazz by Taj added a layer of sophistication that perfectly complemented the atmosphere. The event was topped off with curated drinks from sponsors The Producer Mezcal, Not Beer, and Ghia.

Among the crowd were some of Dallas’ hottest rising stars in music, entertainment and art including  former Dallas cheerleader and “America’s Sweethearts” star Kat Puryear, model and content creator Anima Agyeman, the ever-chic chef and author Jerrelle Guy, and influencers Kulanika Wick and Bondie Metchore.

But the true magic of the night was in the new connections forged. Dallas’ art scene gained a few new collectors as first-time buyers took the plunge, making significant acquisitions and solidifying the city’s status as a burgeoning cultural hub.

**Cohart Drops**—a game-changing feature offering exclusive, limited-edition art releases directly to collectors. The inaugural drop, set for today, August 20th, at 6 pm CT on Instagram, will be hosted by Kat Puryear and will feature the brilliant artists from Saturday’s event.
