**Aotearoa Art Fair 2027** is now accepting gallery applications, with a deadline of **October 30, 2026**. The fair returns to the Viaduct Events Centre in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland from **May 6 to 9, 2027**, giving galleries and artist-run spaces a direct line to collectors in New Zealand and across the Pacific.

#### Why Apply to Aotearoa Art Fair 2027

The 2026 edition was the fair's biggest yet. According to the organizers, it welcomed:

- **12,959 visitors**, a record and up 18% on the year before
- **65+ galleries** across six sectors
- **NZ$10 million** in art sales

Around 90% of VIP guests said they were likely to return in 2027, making it a strong platform for galleries looking to reach engaged buyers in the region.

#### Fair Sections

Galleries can apply to one of several sectors:

- **Galleries:** the main sector, for solo or curated group presentations of new and important work
- **Futures:** for galleries and artist-run spaces that have been operating for five years or less
- **Works on Paper:** drawings, prints, photography and editions, one of the most accessible entry points for new collectors
- **Object:** ceramics, design and small-scale works with a focus on craftsmanship
- **Horizons:** a curated section spotlighting emerging artists from Aotearoa and the Pacific
- **Moving Image:** a curated sector introduced in 2026

The fair encourages new bodies of work, including curated solo presentations and "solo within group" shows.

#### Booth Costs

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and exclude GST:

- **Galleries:** NZ$781 per sqm, for stands of 18 to 60 sqm (NZ$14,058 to NZ$46,860)
- **Futures:** NZ$677 per sqm, for stands of 7 to 14 sqm (NZ$4,739 to NZ$9,478)
- **Works on Paper:** NZ$400 per sqm, for stands of 5 to 19 sqm

Payment is split into three instalments: 30% within 14 days of selection, 35% on February 12, 2027 and 35% on March 19, 2027. No separate application fee is listed.

#### Who Can Apply?

The fair is open to **established commercial galleries and artist-run spaces** with a strong exhibition history that present **at least four shows a year**, in their own space, project venues or recognized fairs. A few rules to keep in mind:

- Artworks shown at previous art fairs are not accepted
- Joint applications are welcome, but each gallery must apply separately with signed terms and conditions
- Stands should be curated; overhanging artwork is not allowed

#### What to Submit

Applications are made online and ask for:

- Gallery information and profile
- Exhibition history
- A clear proposal outlining the featured artists and your curatorial vision
- Artist details, CVs and supporting documents
- Indicative or actual images of the work

The selection committee looks at curatorial strength, the calibre of represented artists and the quality of the proposed presentation.
