This piece is a part of a larger collection, titled Desire Path. This series continues my exploration of the ‘impossible bouquet’ by reinterpreting the genre popularised in 17th-century Dutch painting. Here I theatrically critique the complexity and anxieties of human experience when met with established socio-cultural systems.

This piece is a part of a larger collection, Sugar Fever Dream which presents a range of hyper-natural Post-Humanist landscapes. These paintings are bowls of brightly wrapped candy, offering enticement at first glance, but may induce nausea if consumed in totality.

It is to think that everything could be different. Traditions, injustices and that beauty that generally acquires status in foreign eyes. Art will always be valuable for unsettling the eyes.

As I was building this it came together like a fabric, like the cells in a living organism. There’s tons of desert foliage, lots of sand (with hidden neon), and even a few beads and piercings (because I can).

Even deserts make themselves an oasis and you are already mostly water

Visual artist

The inspiration for this series comes from the Jewish mystic concept of Tsimtsum which means contraction (of the light).
I aim at balancing the light, focusing on movements and imperfections.

This piece is an expression of layers of feeling. What was most important to me was the way that these layers interacted -- how can more weighty, intense feelings walk hand in hand with those that soothe?

This is an upcycled, rather beat up, and signed surfboard that was painted and auctioned at a launch party called Wax to Wax for Makers Mark in San Francisco. A friend assisted in receiving the board and sanding off the wax which is in the process video. I then taped, primed, and painted a wave on the board.
