One in particular comes to mind, a newspaper clipping from a news story,
a New York rock band was all the rage with a fireworks show, platform shoes and makeup,
well this piece of art was inspired by one of they, a musician who came from space
and played a guitar that exhaled smoke and spit sparks to the rhythm of the chords
of each piece of music.

I painted it from a photo that really inspired me and I felt his passion and joy and wanted to be a part of it. Located deeeeep within Mercado de Artesanías de la Ciudadela, Mexico City, is a hidden gem; Chema's guitar repair. It wasn't easy to find him but getting lost in the market, getting my bass repaired, taking pictures of his incredible workshop, and creating this series made the wild goose chase beyond worth it.
