I made this image with a dear friend who is a gorgeous human inside and out, and moves through space so gracefully. We made this series in a park near our hometowns, just me and her, with blankets hung on a tree. I believe I captured the true essence of her being, the peace that surrounds her. 

Surrender

I prefer the imaginary to be explicit instead of taken as given. I'm interested in the structure behind the ways fantasy organizes our experience of everyday reality and tells us who we are. The imaginary does seem to be consistently mistaken for real. This is why my work is usually in the advertising language and also allows that context to fail.
