Calibrated is an 8-inch kinetic steel sculpture formed from two mirrored shapes welded into a seamless curve. Circular elements rotate along a horizontal axis, responding to touch and altering the work’s balance.

As movement is introduced, stability shifts and must be re-established. The contrast between the fixed red structure and the mobile black circles reflects a state of continual adjustment, where balance is maintained through responsiveness rather than stasis.

Every step you take around Harmony rewards you with a new perspective. You can touch the top and gently spin it, then watch it find its new resting point — as study in equilibrium not as a destination, but as something you keep choosing.

I usually title a pieces as a response to what I’m working through internally. I made this one late last year, after a stretch of ups and downs, and I landed on Harmony. My hope is that it carries over to whoever brings it home — a reminder that life isn’t linear, and harmony is something we can choose no matter what’s happening around us.
