The story of La Llorona is a legendary ghost woman in Latin American folklore who, according to the myth, weeps for her lost children and is often heard crying near bodies of water. Quite tragic really. But it reminded me of the painting of Ophelia by John Everette Millais and the ghostly tones of the Pre-Raphaelites.

I love that the lifecycle of an idea feels like light- it twists and curves and fades and then pops back with vigor.


I was recently observing light cut by concrete and buildings and l loved the interaction. This summer, I had started to play with ambient glow, like the orange that surrounds the piece like a halo.

Severance is a piece in my recent body of work titled "State of Mind." It examines the question of existentialism from a personal view, citing it as an experience that, though unique to individuals, makes up the shared human experience.
The element of nudity and bowed head is an allegory of a state of vulnerability and introspection respectively.

The title of this piece, WOW, yet it's been changed several times for PC and some completely different names. This is an adhesive on recycled plastic Huffy basketball backboard. The image is from the King's castle in Warsaw, Poland. Visiting Italy and seeing all the work on the frescos from inside churches. Where are all the black angels?
